Frequently asked questions
How the integration works, and what to expect while you onboard.
1 What does the EyeAppoint OPAL integration do?
The EyeAppoint OPAL integration is designed to simplify and automate the process of syncing patient data between a practice’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and B&L Opal’s contact lens ordering portal.
The integration will allow staff to quickly locate patients by name or patient ID, and automatically sync patient demographics, shipping addresses, and the latest contact lens prescriptions (including all Bausch + Lomb contact lenses ordered within the optometry practice). This automation reduces manual data entry, minimizes errors, and saves valuable administrative time.
2 Which EHR systems can I onboard with today?
Revolution, Compulink, Crystal PM, and OfficeMate. Eyefinity is coming soon. If your practice management system is not listed, choose Other and send us your practice details so we can follow up.
3 What should I have ready before I start?
Have your general business information (address, phone, and website), admin access to your EHR, admin access to Opal, and a notepad for partner credentials and OPAL Store IDs. You will use these on the checklist, business details, locations, and agreement steps.
4 What is an OPAL Store ID, and why do I need one for each location?
An OPAL Store ID is the Opal distributor account identifier for a practice location. You will find it in Opal under Settings, then Distributor accounts. Each location has its own OPAL Store ID, and you will enter it on the Locations step so the signed agreement lists the correct accounts.
5 How do I connect Revolution EHR?
First add EyeAppoint as an employee in RevolutionEHR (first name EyeAppoint, last name Automation). Then enable the EyeAppoint partner row under Admin, Practice Preferences, Partner Integrations, and copy that username and password. Enter those partner credentials on the Connect Revolution EHR step. Use the tip icon on that step if you need the partner-credentials walkthrough again.
6 Do I need to sign an agreement?
Yes. After business details and locations, you will sign the Bausch + Lomb / EyeAppoint agreement in an embedded PandaDoc form. Your practice and location details are filled in so you can complete the remaining signature fields and submit.
7 What if my EHR is not listed?
Choose Other on the home page and submit your practice name, contact information, and EHR name. That request is emailed to the EyeAppoint team, and someone will follow up about integrating your system.
8 How long does Compulink partner activation take?
Compulink typically processes API partner activation in 1~3 business days. You should receive an email confirmation when you submit the request, then a second email when the integration is ready. Finish the remaining onboarding steps while you wait, including OPAL Store IDs and the agreement.
